yosaku, a poor man who live in the forest fond a crane that was trapped. He helped it and treated it. at night yosaku received a guest, a woman who lost in the snow. yosaku let her stayed..and they got married.
one day, the crane princess asked for a room. she said she wanted to weave and yosaku have to promised that he would never see her while she was working.

the next day princess crane went out of the room and gave him ayanishiki, a very rare and expensive cloth. yosaku sold it and received a lot of money.
later he noticed that his wife got so weak. yosaku couldn't take it any longer. he decided to peek at her. what a surprise! his wife was a crane!
the crane princess open the door and told him the real story. she left her husband who blame himself for not be able to keep his promise..but the crane princess will never come back
